Prof. Matthias Thommes, Head of Institute of Separation Science and Technology (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) has been distinguished for his outstanding contributions to the fundamentals of adsorption and the characterization of porous materials by the Separation Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
