Prof. Matthias Thommes was invited to give a plenary talk at the 2nd International Symposium on Smart Materials for Energy Efficient Built Environment Control – Smart Materials for Heat Transfer Innovations (SMBEC 2026), which took place from May, 31st to June 2nd at the Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, China. Organized by Annex 92, the objective of the conference was to unite global cross-disciplinary experts to transform smart materials such as MOFs, PCMs into practical, energy-efficient solutions for sustainable built environments and laying groundwork for low-carbon, high-efficiency building system breakthroughs.
Title of the plenary talk: “Effect of confinement on the adsorption, phase and wetting behaviour of fluids: progress in the textural and surface characterization of porous materials“
