Prof. Dr. Randall Snurr (Northwestern University, United States) was granted a Humboldt Research Award (host: Prof. Matthias Thommes), and he will spend this summer at our institute.
Professor Randall Snurr is a world-renowned leader in the use of molecular-level simulation to accelerate the development of new nanoporous materials to solve important environmental problems faced by society. His research group has developed widely used software for the simulation of gas adsorption and diffusion in metal-organic frameworks and other nanoporous materials, as well as computational screening techniques using machine learning. During his stay at the FAU in Erlangen, he is focused on fundamental problems in adsorption hysteresis, as well as diffusion in materials having a hierarchy of pore sizes. You can find more information here.
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Snurr to our institute. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and a vibrant academic exchange.
